![]() The 2023 Corvette Z06 Convertible Will Pace the 107th Indianapolis 500Ĭhevy Bolt Named Best Electric Car For 5-Year Cost of OwnershipĢ024 Chevy Trax Contest Winner Will Use Car to Help Save the Great Lakes “Got the same recall letter about a week ago on my C7.R A8 vert - will have dealer check it out when I take in for next oil change.” It is a software upgrade, which screwed up all my settings.”Īnother owner, nicknamed Vetter, has gotten a recall letter in the mail. Arizona says, “Had mine in for service a couple of weeks ago, service writer mentioned a recall on the trunk so they did that fix as well. Apparently, GM has issued a recall to correct the issue. It is important to point out however that there is a software problem for some of the 2016 Chevrolet Corvette Z06s. Several other drivers chimed in saying that the tip about the convertible saved them a trip to the dealer. He responds, “You da man! Got it! Thanks!” It turns out that the convertible roof was what was causing Mills’ problem. A Tampa driver says “Is it a convertible? Make sure the top is all the way up or down. This is a trick that most would not think of. Once you unlock it manually, it will reset and the FOB and button inside the car will work.” Good to know that there is also a key hole as well as an outside truck release button. There is a keyhole on the underside of the trunk. ![]() If you experience this, just remove the KEY from your FOB and unlock it manually. *IF* you put the car in valet mode and then take it out of valet mode, SOMETIMES the trunk will not open via remote FOB or the release button inside the car. ![]() Racer2 points out that the vehicle may be stuck in Valet Mode and won’t open for security reasons. “Is it in park if A8 or turned off if M7.” It is important that the Corvette is turned off whether it is manual or automatic, Corvette trunks usually will not open if the vehicle is on. It is a small rubber covered button.” Also, he suggests double checking the obvious. “Try the trunk release button at the back of the car, just above the plate. Lucky for Mills there are a couple of tricks to try before you have to run to the dealer.Īn owner, from Arizona, reaches out to remind Mills that there is yet another trunk release button that may finally free up the trunk latch. Mills writes, “Just took my 2016 Z06 out of storage! Drove it home and I can’t open the trunk! FOB won’t work on it and I tried the button to the left of the steering wheel! No luck! Put the car away as soon as I bought it, so I'm not familiar with it yet! Any ideas?” For some reason, he can’t get the truck on his 2016 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 to pop open. It's not worth taking it to the dealer, it just bugs me sometimes.Īlso, sometimes the button itself under the rubber covering seems to take a little coaxing to work.Mills reaches out to members of a popular Chevrolet Corvette forum about an embarrassing problem. I'll have to play around with it and different situations to see if I can isolate the exact scenario where it doesn't open. But sometimes the trunk still won't open. One of the settings of the SmarTTop is that when I shut the car off, both doors unlock. The car is only allowing access to the driver's door on the first click in case there's someone standing there waiting to jump in with you. What do you have that set for? If both doors need to be unlocked for the button to work, that might have something to do with it. Despite paying a premium for the latest and greatest in automobiles and technology, the price does not always match the dependability unfortunately.Īlso, there's a setting that controls whether the car unlocks both doors or just one door when you press the unlock button. I have heard of similar experiences from other friends who also drive European imports, ie. I have come to accept that the more bells & whistles and hi-tech gadgets you have, the more likely you will have electronic issues. I have mentioned it to the aftersales staff and the only thing they can do is run system diagnostics, reset the system, or replace the electronics. Ever since my first European import, I have experienced more minor electrical issues with these vehicles. Before BMW, I used to drive Japanese imports and rarely ever had any electrical problems. ![]() But I wouldn't be surprised if it had some electrical issues. I am picking up my 128i vert tomorrow, so I have yet to see what bugs it may or may not have. This is only one of a few minor electrical problems I've had with these vehicles. But this only happens when the car is unlocked so it shouldn't have any thing to do with comfort access. I have comfort access so even more so it should open on one touch. I have experienced the trunk not opening with the fob or trunk release button at the rear of my X6, but not on my X3.
